BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 is a unique filter insert for biological filtration of water in freshwater and marine aquariums, paludariums, aquaterrariums and terrarium tanks. It has the shape of spheres made of small-pored sintered glass, which guarantees a very large filtration surface.

How does BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 work?

On the inner surface of the pores of the BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 balls, strains of beneficial nitrate-forming bacteria of the Nitrosomonas and Nitrobacter species settle over time. In their life processes, these microorganisms harness the metabolic products ammonia (Nitrosomonas) and nitrites (Nitrobacter), which are toxic to fish, and oxidize them to nitrates, which are much less dangerous to the inhabitants of the aquarium.

How long does BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 work?

The BioCeraMAX UltraPro 1600 insert can be used for a very long period of time without replacement, but is subject to slow, gradual wear due to crumbling, which reduces its effectiveness.
