Today, science assumes that small dog breeds descend from wolves in the Middle East. Small dogs typically reach adulthood faster than their large relatives. They also grow old later and have a longer life expectancy. As a rule, they are also more agile and less prone to fatigue. For these reasons, small dogs require food that is specially tailored to their physical needs. The individual ingredients of WILD DUCK – SMALL BREED have been formulated in terms of type and quantity together with scientists, which means that WILD DUCK – SMALL BREED meets the latest knowledge about the nutritional needs of dogs. Superfoods, natural prebiotics and nucleotides also contribute to this. MOS is a type of dietary fibre and can improve digestion and strengthen the immune system. FOS is a type of prebiotic dietary fibre. It can help to maintain a healthy intestinal flora and is considered a natural antagonist of E. coli bacteria. Nucleotides are among the basic building blocks of life and can strengthen the immune system. Jerusalem artichoke belongs to the daisy family and can strengthen the immune defences of mammals through healthy intestinal flora, thus protecting them from various bacteria and viruses.

Dog food modelled on the wolf

Wolves hunt their prey in the Rocky Mountains of North America, the Arctic tundra, the mountains and forests of Europe, and the deserts and steppes of Central Asia. This provides them with meat and nutrient-rich offal, but also with vegetables, fruits, berries, roots and herbs from the stomach contents of their prey. Cereals are not included here. This is how the wolf gets the vitamins, minerals, trace elements, enzymes and phytochemicals it needs. Since the wolf is the ancestor of all dogs, Wolfsblut dry dog food is based on the wolf's natural eating habits. It contains a lot of meat or fish combined with superfoods that contain valuable ingredients – just as they would in nature, without any grain. The selection of extraordinary types of meat and nutrient-rich superfoods is based on the wolf's habitats and their colourful variety of food. Wolfsblut offers every dog a species-appropriate and original diet, and with its wide range of varieties, there is something for everyone to tolerate.
