Actually, the puppy stage ends when your dog no longer needs to be suckled. However, your puppy will still be referred to as a puppy for another six to nine months after the suckling period. Usually, supplementary feeding is added at the end of the suckling period until the puppy is fully accustomed to solid food. In the following six to nine months, the puppy should receive food that is specially formulated for this developmental period. During this time, puppies are particularly active when they are not sleeping. Compared to an adult dog, they therefore need about twice the amount of energy (based on their body weight). Their stomachs are still very small and sensitive. To avoid overstretching, which can lead to obesity later on, we recommend feeding small portions several times a day. However, the composition of WILD DUCK – PUPPY dry food goes one step further. The type and quantity of the individual food ingredients have been carefully selected together with scientists, ensuring that WILD DUCK PUPPY meets the latest scientific knowledge (about the nutritional needs of puppies). Superfoods, natural prebiotics and nucleotides also contribute to this. MOS: is a type of dietary fibre that can improve digestion and strengthen the immune system. FOS: is a prebiotic dietary fibre. It can help to maintain a healthy gut flora and is considered a natural antagonist of E. coli bacteria. Nucleotides are one of the basic building blocks of life and can have a positive effect on the gastrointestinal tract. Jerusalem artichoke belongs to the daisy family and can strengthen the immune system of mammals through healthy intestinal flora, thus protecting them from various bacteria and viruses. WILD DUCK – PUPPY combines the original with the needs of your dog, enabling natural and species-appropriate daily nutrition. All ingredients of this unique combination serve to maintain the health of your puppy.

Dog food modelled on the wolf

Wolves hunt their prey in the Rocky Mountains of North America, the Arctic tundra, the mountains and forests of Europe and the deserts and steppes of Central Asia. This provides them with meat and nutrient-rich offal, but also with vegetables, fruits, berries, roots and herbs from the stomach contents of their prey. Cereals are not included here. This is how the wolf gets the vitamins, minerals, trace elements, enzymes and secondary plant substances it needs. Since the wolf is the ancestor of all dogs, Wolfsblut dry dog food is based on the wolf's natural eating habits. It contains a lot of meat or fish combined with superfoods that contain valuable ingredients – and, as in nature, completely without cereals. The selection of exceptional meats and nutrient-rich superfoods is based on the wolf's habitat and its colourful variety of food. Wolfsblut offers every dog a species-appropriate and original diet, and with its wide range of varieties, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
