Larger amounts of mulm are not only unsightly in the aquarium, but can also affect the quality of the water. The coarser the gravel, the more mulm collects in the spaces between the stones. Food disappears into the ground before it can be eaten, and the excrement of the animals and dead plant remains also collect and may not reach the filter. The Gravel Cleaner Round allows larger areas to be cleaned quickly and gently, ensuring that sufficient beneficial bacteria remain in and on the substrate. It is also possible to loosen and clean particularly fine gravel and sand well at a reduced flow rate. This reliably prevents compaction of the substrate.
