Palm half shell

The palm half-shell (Borassus flabellifer) originates from Brazil. Due to the fact that the palm half shell is very woody, this half shell is very durable.

In the aquarium, the palm half-shell can be planted very well with perching plants and also serves as an ideal hiding place for many aquarium inhabitants.

The palm half-shell can also be used in terrariums. There it can also be used as a hiding place, as a natural food bowl or simply as decoration.

The tannins and humic substances contained in the palm half shell can have a positive effect on the water in the aquarium.

The palm half shell needs a little time to sink in the aquarium. You can weigh the palm half shell down with a stone for the first few days or water it for a few days before placing it in the aquarium.

The palm half shell is 6 to 8 cm long and between 4 and 7 cm high. This means that the half shell can also be used for nano aquariums.

As the palm half shell is a purely natural product, the size and appearance can understandably vary slightly.
