Denitrifying anaerobic bacteria break down nitrate in the aquarium, but need oxygen-free zones. If these are not sufficient, the nitrate level rises and leads to algae and susceptible fish. Nitrate Remover Pellets is the natural solution: the filter medium forms anaerobic zones and thus improves the water quality. It also slightly increases the carbonate hardness of the water and stabilises the pH value. Ideal in combination with the active denitrifiers in the KlarWasser Boost Mix bacteria.
