The shrimps form a very large group that have developed very different feeding strategies. Very peaceful fan shrimps (Atya) filter plankton particles out of the water with their fan-like legs. Scissor shrimps (Macrobrachium) are predatory and also eat other shrimps. Most Caridina and Neocaridina species are peaceful and use their mouthparts to pluck algae and small particles from the substrate. There are shrimp species in the lakes of Sulawesi that have adapted to the very special habitats. The pretty little cardinal shrimps (C. dennerlii) eat growth, but only in the immediate vicinity of their shelter. Bee shrimps search for and find their food using their sense of smell and will even walk halfway across the aquarium to do so. Cardinal shrimps do not do this. JBL PRONOVO SHRIMPS should be fed directly in front of their noses. The wafers from JBL PRONOVO CRABS are more suitable for scissor shrimps (Macrobrachium). Firstly because of the composition and secondly because of the shape, which they can grip better with their claws.
JBL PRONOVO food is prebiotic
Scientists agree that (pre-)prebiotic food promotes digestion and therefore health. In the case of shrimp, there is another important aspect: Better digestion means less excretion and therefore less pollution of the water, resulting in fewer algae problems and cleaner water.
Advantage through research
The results of JBL research expeditions, together with the knowledge of the JBL research and development team, have led to optimal, balanced feed mixtures made from high-quality ingredients.
