Many people now feed our wild birds not only in winter but throughout the year.

Year-round feeding makes a significant contribution to balancing out food shortages, especially during the breeding season (for example, when the weather is bad and there are no insects flying), thus offering as many young birds as possible a greater chance of survival.

When you set up a new feeding place, it may be that no birds come at first. Be patient. The birds must first discover the new food source. But then more will come every year! It is simply a joy to watch when the adults show their young the place later.
