Mechanical filter media retain suspended solids and dirt particles. This happens at different stages:

At the beginning, before the water goes through the further purification process, the pre-filter media EHEIM MECH and EHEIM MECHpro prove their worth.

EHEIM FIX is suitable as a separating layer between the mechanical and biological filter media.

And for fine filtration at the end, before the water returns to the aquarium, EHEIM SYNTH filter floss is ideal.

Pre-filter mass also for small dirt particles and biological treatment

The spiral shape ensures that even small dirt particles are retained. The high-quality, absolutely water-neutral plastic enables easy and residue-free cleaning. The surface structure nevertheless allows colonization with cleaning bacteria and thus also biological water treatment. MECHpro is ideal for combining with SUBSTRATpro or bioMECH.
