Casuarina Cones are a popular addition to freshwater aquariums because they enrich the water with valuable tannins and other substances that promote the well-being of fish and shrimp.
They come from the Casuarina, a tree native to Australia, Southeast Asia and Africa. The cones have a brown color and a conical shape.
They contain tannins that slightly acidify the water and have an antibacterial effect.
They also give the water a natural, very light amber tint and only slightly lower the pH. The ideal alternative to alder cones, with similar effect but less discolored water.
Casuarina cones can also serve as hiding places or food for baby shrimp, for whom the crevices provide an ideal retreat.
The ideal natural water conditioner for fighting fish and shrimp.
Casuarina cones are slow to sink to the bottom. If you want them to sink faster, they can be watered beforehand.
Since it is a purely natural product, appearance and size may vary slightly, of course.
