Artemia Easy Breeder

Artemia crustaceans are fascinating creatures that have existed for over 100 million years. Their high nutrient density makes them an invaluable live food for your aquarium fish, especially for rearing fry and promoting their colouring.

The Artemia Easy Breeder enables you to breed these valuable creatures with minimal effort. The special design was developed to gently swirl the Artemia eggs and the hatched nauplii. The special shape ensures that the eggs or nauplii do not get stuck in inaccessible corners. The result – an impressive hatching rate!

At 24°C, the nauplii hatch in just 24–36 hours, and at 20°C in just 30–40 hours. This means you can quickly and efficiently provide fresh food for your fish at any time. Installation is also very easy. Either mount the Artemia Easy Breeder on the stable stand provided or attach it directly to the aquarium using the enclosed suction cups and brackets.

The advantage of installing it directly in the aquarium is that the Artemia hatch best under the optimal light and heat conditions in the aquarium.

Now you just need to fill the Artemia Easy Breeder with water up to the mark (approx. 300 ml), connect the hose to a diaphragm pump and add salt and artemia (e.g. HOBBY Artemia Eggs, Artemia Salt or Artemix).

After successful hatching, simply turn off the air supply using the enclosed stopcock and wait a few minutes.

Now you can simply let the reddish-coloured nauplii, which collect at the bottom of the Breeder, drain through the hose and collect them in a container for feeding. Alternatively, you can also raise the small nauplii to their full size in our HOBBY Artemia Incubator Set.

Note: An aquarium air pump, e.g. the Bubble Air Pump 100, is required to operate the Artemia Easy Breeder. If the diaphragm pump is installed below the Artemia Easy Breeder, it is essential to use a non-return valve (e.g. HOBBY Aqua Control

For a batch of 300 ml of water, you need 9.6 g of HOBBY Artemia Salt. The amount of Artemia eggs added depends on the requirement. Alternatively, you can also use the HOBBY Artemix ready mix.
