The SAS 500 filter is a surface filter for removing a layer of dirt consisting of dust, a protein film or small plant residues from the water surface in the aquarium. It helps to maintain the aesthetic appearance of the aquarium and supports the process of filtering and aerating the water. Thanks to its adjustable filter capacity, it is ideal for aquariums with large or small water surfaces.

Prevents unsightly biofilm

One of the most common problems in aquarium tanks is the formation of a bacterial biofilm on the surface of the water. This biofilm restricts gas exchange, hinders light penetration and impairs the appearance of the aquarium. Online aquarium forums are full of repetitive tips for dealing with the problem of biofilm. Among other things, aquarists recommend installing a sprinkler system together with a strong filter or catching the dirt ad hoc with a paper towel. However, they point out that installing a surface filter is the simplest and most effective solution.
