What is PhosMAX Pro?

PhosMAX Pro is a unique filter cartridge for chemical filtration of water in freshwater aquariums and terrarium tanks. It is in the form of non-woven bags filled with a specially selected ion exchange resin stabilized with a ceramic filler. It is used for chemical absorption of phosphates dissolved in water, which are one of the main causes of the formation of troublesome algae in aquariums.

How does PhosMAX Pro work?

The unique ion exchange resin used in the PhosMAX Pro filter cartridge has excellent absorption properties. By absorbing the phosphate ions dissolved in the water, it prevents the formation of algae extremely effectively.

Where and when does the use of PhosMAX Pro prove its worth?

PhosMAX Pro proves excellent as a filter bed in canister filters, overflow filters, sump aquariums and filter tanks. It is especially recommended for tanks with a large number of fish fed with animal food (e.g. large tropheus, catfish) and without plants, which are a natural phosphate absorber. The use of PhosMAX Pro limits the amount and frequency of water exchange and is extremely effective in preventing the formation of algae.

How to use PhosMAX Pro?

PhosMAX Pro is ready for immediate use and does not require rinsing or other preparation for use. The package contents are added to the filter basket or chamber. For best results, it is recommended to place the PhosMAX Pro insert after the filter inserts for mechanical and biological filtration.

How long does PhosMAX Pro work?

The mode of action of the PhosMAX Pro filter insert (sorption) causes it to gradually fill and wear out. In order to maintain optimal filtering properties, it is recommended to change it no less frequently than every 4 weeks. One bag guarantees filtration in an approx. 70 l aquarium for a period of about 30 days.
